Adding Video Solutions to Enhance Worship

Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Chandler Arizona , www.cornerstonechandler.com, is dedicated to filling its services with creative, artistic elements, powerful worship music, and relevant messages that apply to real life.

The church wanted to enhance its services with an authentic, fully engaged, multi-sensory experience that utilized highly dynamic video content.

Working with project consultant Clark ProMedia, Christie developed a cutting-edge, immersive visual solution for the church that has dramatically enhanced the dynamics of worship for Cornerstone's 5,000 congregants.

Cornerstone Church utilizes three video walls in its main worship hall: a 36' x 19' video wall that fills the church's entire stage, flanked by two attached 16' x 9' screens. Visuals range from very large, single images across the three screens to different, multiple images on each screen.

To aid in achieving a visual experience like no other, Christie powered the center screen with four Christie DS+6K 3-chip DLP projectors controlled by a Vista Systems' Spyder with expansion module. A second Spyder controls the side screens, which are fed by two Christie DS+6K projectors.

The Christie DS+6K projectors were selected for their brightness at 6,500 ANSI lumens, 10-bit image processing for pristine video playback, and a compact design that provides installation flexibility. Video sources include computer graphics, IMAG, DVD and videotape - all easily processed by the Spyder, which can fluidly mix and match an almost limitless variation of sources on the fly.

Upon completion of the installation, Brian Kaufman, worship director at Cornerstone, was pleased.

"Christie's innovative set-up has given us the flexibility and technology to move different media elements on and off our multiple screens quickly, at the push of a button," he said. "In addition, as production happens four times a day, we appreciate the stability of Spyder software. Thanks to Christie, Cornerstone has set a new standard for worship services."
