“There are years that ask questions and years that answer.” --Zora Neale Hurston, “Their Eyes Were Watching God”
As we near the end of the year, it is a natural time of reflection. What kind of year has this been for your church?
Has it been one that asked more questions that will be answered in the future, or was it a year that answered some questions and prayers of the previous year?
What is it that your church and congregation are praying for? I’ve talked previously in this column about prayers being delayed, disguised or denied…not to mention those prayers that are clearly answered.
I visited my sister’s church this morning for the christening of my third niece, and the pastor spoke in his series, “An Ambitious Ministry,” about having a plan, encouraging everyone to formulate, as we do in our business practices, a vision and mission statement for our lives.
As we go forward into the next year, I hope that both you find answers to the questions your congregation has been searching for…and that you seek new questions to be answered in the future for your church. I hope that the vision and mission statements both for the church itself and for your members, in particular, are clearly articulated and ultimately realized.
This is our annual Hot Products and Services issue, and it’s a fitting way to close out the year. As always, we have rounded up some of the latest and greatest tools for you to use to successfully continue with your church’s ministry. I hope you’ll find that these selections are great resources for your worship facility.
I’m always interested in hearing from you. You can reach me at jill@rpnmag.com.
