Letter from the Editor
By: Jill Pinheiro As I write this, many of you are preparing to head to Orlando for this year’s InfoComm show, which is expected to attract more than 25,000 attendees from more than 80 countries and will feature more than 750 exhibitors. Worship continues to be a major market for AV equipment, and it will be exciting to see what new products have been created and tailored specifically for churches this year. John Girton covers multimedia (or massmedia, as he refers to it) in our Ministry of the Month column in this issue, and he offers great information for understanding and implementing this ministry model within a church of any size. “Some are cutting-edge and keeping up with the trends,” Girton says. “But many lack more than an understanding of the growing uses of media within the context of church ministry and evangelism--they lack an understanding of what’s required to reach the future of a global-minded Christian and globalized church. Trust me, this is a subject that isn’t about ‘if’ you will get involved with multimedia and technology. This is a subject about “when” you will decide to jump in.” Massmedia, multimedia, A/V…whatever your church calls it, we will continue to cover it within these pages. And, we will, of course, bring you the all of the exciting news from InfoComm, particularly all of the new and innovative products that are sure to be showcased. I’m always interested in hearing from you. You can reach me at jill@rpnmag.com. God Bless, Jill Pinheiro |
