Is this how your last building project went?
Your church decided it was time to build. A location was secured, and capital was raised for the project. The building committee interviewed and selected a design/architectural firm to develop a design based on what your church wanted to do. The committee looked at various designs and the associated costs and made the selection. The design/architectural firm developed drawings that encompassed all aspects of the project, including exterior and interior design and materials, mechanical systems, electrical, plumbing, carpet, paint, landscaping, etc.
Wait a minute…something is missing. What about audio/video?
According to A/V consultant Van Sachs, this is a common situation among churches going through a building project.
“I recently talked to a church that is in the process of building a new facility,” said Sachs. “Their building budget is $2 million, and the building is already under roof. They are only now just getting around to discussing the technology aspects of the project.”
In our annual focus on technology, Sachs outlines the A/V component of the church design process, ensuring that your church factors in your technology wants and needs while the funds are still available in your budget.
