An extensive study of U.S. congregations entitled, “Field Guide to U.S. Congregations: Who’s Going Where and Why” was released this year. According to the study, “Congregations that have lots of people involved in many ways tend to be growing congregations. A clear identity and captivating vision for the future propel congregations forward. However broad or narrow the focus, congregations benefit from a deep understanding of who God is and what God is currently doing.” The report identifies 10 characteristics of a strong congregation: • Growing spiritually Of these qualities, which ones are you excelling at as a church?
