W2A Design Group provided full architectural services for a new 18,000-square-foot parish center for Holy Family Church in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
The main component of this parish center is a new 240-seat, 5,000-square-foot banquet hall. The hall can be subdivided into a 1,400-square-foot luncheon room specifically designed to provide a more intimate setting for funeral luncheons, as well as a 3,600-square-foot banquet room.
These rooms are complete with full audio-visual capabilities, housed in custom-designed millwork features on either end of the space.
These banquet spaces are served by a full-service commercial kitchen, which can easily accommodate the needs of an outside caterer.
A 1,200-square-foot, two-story fully glazed entrance lobby serves casual parish functions, including Sunday morning “coffee hour” after Mass, and provides an additional gathering area in conjunction with larger events.
The coffee bar is easily transformed for evening cocktail hour functions.
The second-floor mezzanine overlooking the lobby provides additional space for smaller private gatherings that may break out of larger events and serves as an independent gathering space.
The second floor provides three large meeting rooms to meet the needs of various parish organizations. These rooms are available both during the day and the evening.
Also, on the second floor is a 1,500-square-foot multi-purpose room, which doubles as a cafeteria for the students of the adjacent K-8 parish elementary school.
The school and multi-purpose room are connected by an enclosed link structure.
Served by its own kitchen, this space has been designed to provide the utmost safety of the school students, as it can be physically isolated from adjacent spaces when utilized by groups that are not directly associated with the school. For functions during non-school hours, the building can be used in its entirety.
