Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Saint Paul, Minnesota, is an architectural landmark in the Highland Park neighborhood.

PCL Construction worked collaboratively with church representatives and the design team to expand the original 1950s colonial church with an 18,000-square foot-addition that complements the original design.

The addition includes a series of new classrooms, a vaulted fellowship hall, and a fully accessible new entry.

PCL also renovated major portions of the existing 48,000-square-foot facility, including a new commercial kitchen.

Mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems were updated and improved throughout the church as part of the project.

On the exterior, Gloria Dei features a new steel gable roof, shed dormers, brick veneer, a slate roof, and architectural details that match the original structure.

The PCL team’s careful attention to construction planning and communication kept the church open for services, educational programs, and events throughout construction.

PCL is a group of independent construction companies that carries out work across Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, and in Australia.
